Position: Client / Patient Advocate
Objective:
To provide compassionate, client-centered services to individuals seeking assistance at A Caring Pregnancy Center and to provide consistent coverage for Life Services Intakes, one-on-one mentoring, and First Steps Plus, while supporting ACPC staff.

Reports To:
Clinic Services Director

Exempt Status:

Required Qualifications:

  1. Faith and Commitment: A committed Christian with a growing personal relationship with Jesus Christ, demonstrating a passion for evangelism and pro-life advocacy.
  2. Pro-Life Dedication: Strong commitment to the pro-life position, biblical marriage, and sexual purity. Ability to handle emotionally charged situations professionally.
  3. ACPC Policy Alignment: Willingness to uphold ACPC’s Statement of Faith, Statement of Principle, and policies. Resolve conflicts according to ACPC procedures.
  4. Communication & Counseling Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills. Capable of counseling clients, volunteers, and staff in a fast-paced, community-oriented environment.
  5. Leadership: Ability to provide spiritual leadership and support to staff and volunteers, prioritizing individual needs over schedules. Capable of delegating responsibilities and working independently.

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Social Work or a relevant field, or equivalent experience in peer mentoring/counseling.
  2. Two years of experience in a pregnancy center.
  3. Experience in facilitating or coordinating support group curriculum.
  4. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Essential Functions / Duties:

Client / Patient Support:
  • Conduct client/patient intake interviews, gather relevant information, and complete necessary forms.
  • Administer pregnancy tests and provide education about pregnancy options.
  • Provide counseling and support related to personal needs, relationships, and faith.
  • Make appropriate referrals using the Personalized Referral Plan (PRP).
  • Communicate client information with clinic staff and perform follow-up phone calls.
  • Assist clients in understanding and navigating available resources.
  • Report any special cases requiring attention (e.g., abuse, suicidal thoughts).
  • Educate clients on parenting, life skills, and available services.
  • Make referrals, track client progress, and offer spiritual encouragement.
  • Maintain records, assist with material support, and handle special cases as needed.
  • Attend meetings, training, and participate in major ACPC events.
Administrative Support:
  • Fulfill receptionist duties when needed.
  • Maintain accurate client records, entering data into the clinic database.
  • Complete necessary paperwork and client data entry.
  • Attend bi-weekly staff meetings and required in-service training.
Community Engagement:
  • Represent ACPC in the community as requested by the Executive Director.
  • Participate in major ACPC events (e.g., Annual Fundraising Banquet, Walk for Life, Volunteer Appreciation).

Compensation and Benefits:

  • Salary: $17.00 per hour, flexible work week (32 hours per week).
